Weight Management & Eating Disorders
Weight Management is not just limited to the need to lose weight, dieting, exercise, Hypno-Gastric-Band or Surgical Gastric-Bypass. It also includes emotional eating, re: Boredom, Past Trauma, Loneliness, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Relationships, Low Self-Esteem, Bereavement, Bullying, PTSD Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Abuse (emotional, physical or sexual).
Further issues within Weight Management and Weight Loss are more serious and more deep-rooted Eating Disorders (binging, bulimia and anorexia). These deeply psychological issues relate to the first level Situational-Triggers, plus second level Negative Core Beliefs, then third level Root Causes.
Of course the eating disorder Anorexia relates to the need to gain weight. Usually, Anorexia also is connected to a sense of generally feeling out of control, therefor to with-hold food or lose weight is seen as an essential element of gaining some self-control. There is evidence to suggest that an Anorexic person will imagine and also visually see their weight in a mirror, to be much larger than others see in reality. The best way of visualising thisn is when looking at an image via a Blackpool arcade illusional Fun Mirror, for example thin people look fat, fat people look thin, tall people look short, short people look tall.
Many clients have told us that they have deeply regretted wasting hundreds of pounds and loads of emotional energy, hoping and praying for "quick" or "speedy" or "rapid" or "holiday target" or "wedding" or "beach-body" Weight-Loss Results. In other words we go beyond the symptoms and triggers to uncover the Negative Core Beliefs and the original Root Causes.
